DRAR is committed to the ongoing development of innovative programs to enhance your professional success. Helping you succeed is our first order of business.
- REALtalk is our weekly email newsletter which highlights upcoming events, industry updates and items of importance to our members
- Our website, www.durhamrealtors.org, is a powerhouse of information for both members and consumers
- Professional, courteous staff to assist you Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm
- DRAR membership helps qualify REALTORS® for access to the Triangle Multiple Listing Service
- The Marie Austin REALTOR® Store provides quality, real-estate specific products at a savings for your convenience
- In addition to member-discounted Continuing Education courses, DRAR offers professional development classes such as: Designation Courses, Professional Standards Workshops, the DRAR Rookie Club, Broker-In-Charge meetings, and free seminars on timely subjects affecting our members.
- Membership Luncheons are free to members and are a great way to network and learn more about the Durham community, as DRAR frequently invites speakers such as the Superintendent of Durham Public School, the Durham Chief of Police, the President of the Greater Durham Chamber of Commerce, etc.
- Join one of the many DRAR Committees based on enhancing your professional success and improving our community – i.e. Durham Public Schools Committee, REALTOR® Community Service Committee, Equal Opportunity and Cultural Diversity Committee, Legislative/Political Affairs Committee, HomeBuyers Fair Committee or Social Committee
- DRAR’s annual social events include golf tournaments, Durham Bulls game outings, Parade of Homes Kick-Off Party and Bus Tour, REALTOR® Appreciation Event and the Annual Banquet
- Industry-related articles published weekly in local newspapers position the Association as “The Voice of Real Estate in Durham”
- Ethics complaints and arbitration questions are processed and coordinated through the Association office.
- Mediation services are provided as an alternative to arbitration, promoting amiable resolution to business disputes.
- Community Service events and projects include: Annual Charity Auction, REALTOR® Day at Meals-On–Wheels, Fill the Bus campaign, Annual HomeBuyers Fair and collections at membership luncheons to benefit local charities.
- DRAR maintains partnerships with the Home Builders Association of Durham, Orange & Chatham Counties, the Durham Visitors and Convention Bureau, Durham Public Schools, Durham Affordable Housing Coalition, the Triangle Community Coalition and the Triangle Mortgage Lenders Association
- New Members are recognized in REALtalk, in the local newspapers and at the first membership luncheon following acceptance
- The member price for a set of one-time use membership mailing labels is $25 plus tax (non-member price is $150 plus tax)
- Membership rosters, including member name and firm information, are free to members
