Congressman Price, Representative of North Carolina’s 4th Congressional District, received his undergraduate degree at UNC-Chapel Hill and went on to Yale University to earn a Bachelor of Divinity as well as a Ph.D. in Political Science. Before he began serving in Congress in 1987, Price was a professor of Political Science and Public Policy at Duke University. He is the author of four books on Congress and the American political system.
Price currently serves on the House Appropriations Committee and chairs the Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee, which oversees funding for the Department of Homeland Security. He is a member of the Appropriations Subcommittees responsible for funding the Environmental Protection Agency, land and water protection, and housing and transportation programs. As the chairman of the House Democracy Partnership and an outspoken advocate for Middle East peace, Price is also a recognized leader on foreign policy issues.
In North Carolina, David's constituents know him as a strong supporter of education, accessible health care, affordable housing, clean air and water, and improved transportation alternatives. |

Each Real Estate office is asked to collect school supplies from their agents and their business associates to fill designated boxes. Collections begins Friday, August 6th, the first day of tax-free weekend (see note below for tax free holiday)
Filled boxes may be brought to the August 19th luncheon at The Landing at Southhpoint, located at 7250 Hwy 751. If you are unable to return your box, please contact the association at 919-403-2117 to arrange pick-up. The supplies will be presented to Superintendent Becoats at the August luncheon.
Monetary donations payable to the Durham Regional Association of REALTORS® with or in lieu of school supplies would also be greatly appreciated. Send checks to the Durham Regional Association of REALTORS®, 4236 University Drive, Durham, NC 27707.
Let’s once again show our commitment to our community by volunteering our time and our donations to the “Fill the Bus” project! All contributing offices will be recognized in an upcoming issue of REALtalk.
The NC State Department of Revenue is allowing consumers to purchase school supplies tax free from Friday, August 6, 2010, starting at 12:01 a.m. through Sunday, August 8, 2010, ending at 11:59 p.m.
